Chuvashia Head on co-operation with Belarus: we see great prospects here

The Chuvash Republic is keen to liaise with Belarus across many areas – as noted by Oleg Nikolaev, the Head of Russia’s Chuvash Republic, during today’s meeting with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko

Oleg Nikolaev first of all thanked the Belarusian leader for the close attention he pays to regional liaisons, including with the Chuvash Republic, “Thanks to this, the areas of our interaction are constantly expanding, deepening and are filled with new content.”

The delegation from Chuvashia consists of more than 70 people. In addition to the directions indicated by the President, the guests have also worked out the proposals from the construction and healthcare sectors with their Belarusian partners.

“We see very great prospects here in order to enrich and support each other. In particular, we are building a lot of facilities on behalf of the Russian President. We plan to start construction of the republican clinical hospital in the near future. We see the competencies of the Belarusian construction industry, and they will be very useful to us in this regard. In certain areas, even construction materials can replace imports, enabling us to save money. We’ve previously agreed on all this. If you approve, we will continue this work,” Oleg Nikolaev addressed the Head of State.

Medicine and healthcare represent another promising area of co-operation. According to Oleg Nikolaev, there are two federal centres in Chuvashia: that of eye microsurgery and the centre for orthopaedics and endoprosthetics.

“In this area, our colleagues expressed the need that joint replacement is relevant for Belarusians. If necessary, we’re ready to lend a shoulder. We work with colleagues from St. Petersburg and develop joints from domestic materials ourselves. If necessary, we are ready to accept up to 300 people from Belarus and provide them with high-tech medical care,” the Head of the Chuvash Republic asserted.
