Bloomberg: China can become main supplier of diesel fuel to Europe
China may become the main supplier of diesel fuel to Europe because of sanctions imposed by the West on Russian resources, RIA Novosti reports
Bloomberg reports that China has increased diesel exports in recent months, part of which is sent to Europe.
“The export of diesel fuel from China can be from 400,000 to 600,000 barrels per day during the first half of this year,” it follows from the forecast of specialists.
According to the analytical company Vortexa, last year, the European Union bought about 220 million barrels of diesel fuel from Russia.
At the same time, according to Eugene Lindell, an expert at the Facts Global Energy consulting company, replacing such a volume of supplies ‘will be difficult, but possible’.
European countries buy significant volumes of petroleum products from Russia, mainly diesel fuel. According to Western mass media, in December they bought almost a record volume of diesel since 2016, and Russia accounted for about half of the deliveries. The embargo of the European Union on the import of oil products from Russia by sea will enter into force on February 5th.
