The Belarusian Minister cordially welcomed his colleague to the hospitable Belarusian land.

“I cannot but note that this is the first ever meeting at the level of transport departments of the two countries. Our negotiations will certainly contribute to the development of co-operation,” said Aleksei Avramenko.

The parties discussed the organisation of direct air communication between the states. Now the issue of entering the airline of Sri Lanka to the Belarusian market is being considered.

An important area is interaction in the field of human resources.

“The Belarusian State University of Transport (BSUT) is ready to liaise in training your students across transport and construction specialties, in terms of advanced training. The Belarusian State Aviation Academy is also open to co-operation,” the Minister of Transport and Communications assured.

According to Aleksei Avramenko, a memorandum of co-operation between BSUT and the Ceylon-German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) from Sri Lanka will be signed in the near future.

This document will serve as the basis for attracting the teaching and research staff of the university in order to conduct lectures, seminars, training courses and improve the skills of students and specialists from the Sri Lankan side. The memorandum will become the legal basis for the preparation of Sri Lankan citizens for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programmes.
