Next session of CSTO Collective Security Council scheduled for late 2025 in Bishkek

The next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSTO) will be held at the end of 2025 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, sb.by reports with reference to the CSTO press service

"The next session of the CSTO Security Council will be held in Q4 2025 in Bishkek," the press service noted.

Today, November 28th, a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council has been held in Astana under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Its participants exchanged views in detail on the military-political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, discussed the results of co-operation and prospects for further development of the collective security system. As reported, the results of the discussion have been reflected in the Declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council adopted during the session.

"In order to further develop the collective security system, the heads of the CSTO member states adopted a number of decisions aimed at further intensifying allied ties, increasing foreign policy co-ordination and strengthening the Collective Forces. In pursuance of the CSTO Security Council’s decision On Assistance to the Republic of Tajikistan in Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border adopted earlier, the CSTO Target Interstate Programme for Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border was approved; its implementation is scheduled for 2025-2030. Special attention was paid to the preparation for the joint celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," the press service reported.

It is also noted that the activities of the Kazakh side during its CSTO chairmanship were highly appreciated. It was decided that the chairmanship would pass from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic starting from January 1st, 2025. With that in view, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov presented priorities for the period of his country’s chairmanship in the organisation.
