Poll: majority of young Belarusians optimistic about their future
Most young Belarusians are optimistic about the future – as evidenced by the data of a sociological survey on trends among the youth conducted in October by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union together with the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies and the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organisations
When presenting the results of the online survey, the Chairman of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organisations, Pavel Alekso, informed that the study covered nine thousand Belarusians aged 17-35. The data analysis showed that 85 percent of those questioned are optimistic about the future. “They are confident in the future, as well as in the social guarantees and resources that are available to them now,” Mr. Alekso said.
95.6 percent of respondents feel protected and believe that a security request has been implemented in Belarus. More than half of the survey participants are focused on health promotion, employment and career building: they have a high level of motivation, have developed skills to work in the information space, and are ready to learn.
71.9 percent of young people admit that they are ready to participate in a dialogue to discuss topical issues of state development. At the same time, among the forms of active participation in public activities, work in trade union organisations (43 percent) and youth public organisations (66 percent) still enjoys the greatest popularity.
