Belarus’ gold and foreign currency reserves at almost $8.7bn as of September 1st

According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets amounted to $8.6971bn in equivalent as of September 1st, 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the National Bank’s website

In August 2024, gold and foreign currency reserves increased by $165.1m (by 1.9 percent). The largest share in the structure of Belarus’ international reserve assets is held by assets in foreign currency and monetary gold. The volume of foreign currency in reserves as of September 1st, 2024, amounted to $2.9437bn, an increase of $0.8m (0.03 percent) in August, the volume of monetary gold made up $4.3639bn, a growth of $150.6m (3.6 percent).

According to major guidelines of the country’s monetary policy, Belarus’ international reserve assets should total at least $6bn by late 2024.
