Andreev discussed expansion of trade-economic liaisons in Chinese Xiamen

Consul General of Belarus in Shanghai Andrei Andreev has visited the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province – as reported on the official website of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Shanghai

Andrei Andreev held meetings with Vice Governor of Fujian Province Guo Ningning, the Vice Mayor of Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, the management of COSCO Shipping Lines Corporation, the BRICS Innovation Centre, the Xiamen Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital, as well as visited the sea container terminal and a range of Chinese companies.

Practical steps were discussed with the Chinese side to expand trade-economic co-operation with the Republic of Belarus, establish twin-city ties between the Grodno Region and the city of Xiamen, to set up practical and scientific research interaction between the Minsk Scientific and Practical Centre for Surgery, Transplantology and Haematology with the Xiamen Cardiovascular Surgery Centre, and to establish direct business ties between Belarusian high-tech enterprises and the BRICS Innovation Centre in Xiamen.

As part of an international delegation of diplomatic representatives, Andrei Andreev also took part in the opening of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), as well as a series of business meetings – Global Ideas of Chinese Enterprises – organised by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government.

In an interview with representatives of the Chinese news agencies China Daily and CGTN, the Consul General noted that at the current stage, practical steps to build up Belarusian-Chinese co-operation are based on intensive joint work to implement the agreements reached by the heads and governments of both countries during recent meetings.
