Ambassador: Made in Belarus brand enjoys popularity in Kyrgyzstan

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, and – as noted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus, Ermek Ibraimov – this date is a good reason to sum up some of the results of the countries’ joint work

On meeting the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, the diplomat said, “Despite certain difficulties that we had to face a few years ago, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan managed to increase their trade. Belarusian businesses are steadily mastering the Kyrgyz market, and our products are already sold in Belarus. We appreciate this tendency. In addition, relations in the political, cultural and humanitarian fields are developing. For example, Kyrgyz directors regularly take part in the annual Listapad International Film Festival [held in Belarus]. Almost every year we organise Kyrgyz Cinema Days in Belarus, and similar work is being carried out by our Belarusian colleagues in Kyrgyzstan.”

According to Mr. Ibraimov, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan can strengthen their liaisons in all areas of co-operation, since the bilateral potential is much broader. “Work continues in the economic sphere. The Belarusian and Kyrgyz sides focus on increasing their trade. Importantly, the countries have managed to achieve sustainable trade growth,” he noted.

The Kyrgyz diplomat added, “The Made in Belarus brand enjoys popularity in our country. We are interested in buying [Belarusian] machine-technical products. Moreover, some time ago, an assembly facility for Belarus tractors was launched in Kyrgyzstan. In turn, we are exporting agricultural products in small batches to Belarus. Pleasingly, Kyrgyz textiles are now available at Belarusian stores, and this indicates we are steadily and successfully looking for areas suitable for mutual development.”
