Dmitry Valent and Maxim Petkevich win major international professional K-1, Thailand boxing and MMA tournament in Nanjing
The competition gathered the globe’s strongest fighters, with 15-time world champion (amateur and professional) Dmitry Valent representing Minsk’s Kick Fighter club. He knocked out China’s Wang Anying (on a technicality). Wang had previously defeated China’s Fang Bian.
This year’s K-1 final four event is being hosted by China on August 29th: the under 80kg fight is a key event in the world Grand Prix tournament, featuring sportsmen from China, Thailand and Ukraine. Next year, 32 Кunlun Fight tournaments are planned, with young boxers given the chance to defeat K-1 superstars (and receive similar status).
Dmitry is currently training for the 2015 Thailand Boxing World Championship, being hosted by Bangkok from August 12th-23rd.
