Zuckerberg ahead of Musk on world’s richest person list
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has overtaken American entrepreneur Elon Musk as the world’s third-richest person, RIA Novosti reports
According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI), Mark Zuckerberg’s fortune increased by $2.6bn in one day, reaching $178bn. As a result of trading on April 18th, Meta shares rose by 1.5 percent. On that day, the company debuted its latest Llama 3 AI model, as well as an updated version of its Meta AI chatbot.
At the same time, Elon Musk’s fortune decreased by almost $4bn to stand at $170bn. The shares of electric car manufacturer Tesla fell in value by 3.6 percent. That decline has knocked Musk down to the world’s fourth richest person.
According to BBI, the richest person is still Bernard Arnault, who owns the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH (LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton) and whose fortune stands at $218bn.
