Zelenskyy: Bulgarian President refused to provide weapons to Ukraine
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that his Bulgarian counterpart, Rumen Radev, refused to provide Kiev with weapons as assistance, RIA Novosti reports
During a press conference in Sofia, Mr. Zelenskyy said that he and the Bulgarian leader share different views on helping Kiev. Thus, the President of Ukraine is confident that the transfer of weapons will help his country defend itself, but his Bulgarian counterpart believes that this step will be aimed at escalation.
"He cannot allow there to be a decrease in weapons in his army, this is the reason for not supporting us. I told him frankly that his weapons will not be enough if Ukraine loses and Russia goes further,” Mr. Zelenskyy added.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader stressed that he had managed to achieve mutual understanding with the Bulgarian President in the field of energy and the ‘formula of peace’ issue.
