Zas comments on CSTO priorities
The priorities of the CSTO activity in military-technical co-operation is to equip the peacekeeping and collective rapid reaction forces – as stated by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas during a press conference on the results of the CSTO activities in 2022 and on the results of the regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Yerevan, BelTA reports
“If we talk about the priorities in military-technical interaction between our states in the CSTO format, then we identify for ourselves the equipment of the collective rapid reaction forces and our peacekeeping forces. That is, the backbone that will be involved in the first place. This can be singled out as a priority,” Mr. Zas noted.
At the same time, the CSTO Secretary General stressed, the necessary requirement for equipping these forces is the compatibility of their equipment and means of communication. “This is done on the basis that they will perform joint tasks,” concluded Stanislav Zas.
