Wristwatch dated to 50th anniversary of legendary hockey player Ruslan Salei released in Belarus
The limited edition watches were produced at Minsk’s Luch Watch Factory on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the legendary hockey player, defender, captain of the national team Ruslan Salei, who tragically died in a plane crash in 2011

“We have released a collection to mark the 50th anniversary of Belarusian hockey legend Ruslan Salei, inspired by his perseverance and strength,” the Minsk company informed. “The chrome-plated case is available in two versions: silver and black. The dial is shaped like an ice arena, and four hands symbolise precision and determination.”
Ruslan Salei was born on November 2nd, 1974 in Minsk and played for the capital’s teams since 1991. He played for the NHL from 1996 to 2011 and participated in 917 regular season games for Anaheim, Florida, Colorado and Detroit. Ruslan played 39 matches in the Russian championships and took part in three Olympiads (1998, 2002, 2010), where the national team competed. Ruslan was Belarus’ champion in 1993, 1994, 1995. Before the start of the 2011/2012 season, the hockey player moved to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. His life tragically ended in a plane crash on September 7th, 2011, when a Yak-42 with the Lokomotiv team on board crashed during take-off near Yaroslavl. Ruslan was buried at the Moskovskoe cemetery in Minsk.
