White House: Israel has stocks of powerful bombs
John Kirby, the Co-ordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, said that the pause on a shipment of American high-power bombs to Israel is still in place, but the Israeli military has stocks of such weapons, TASS reports
John Kirby noted that Israel has stocks of powerful bombs or similar weapons. At the same time, he said the country ‘continues to receive additional weapons’.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the United States would stop supplying weapons to Israel in the event of a major military operation in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip. Later, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin explained that Washington was reviewing some types of short-term military assistance to the Jewish state in connection with the situation around Rafah. At the same time, the White House explained that a pause was under discussion rather than stopping the supply of shells to Israel.
