Dmitry Lukashenko delivered presents to children in Oshmyany
The President’s Sports Club joined the Our Children New Year charity campaign. Chairman of the club’s Central Council Dmitry Lukashenko and his family delivered presents to children in the Oshmyany centre for social adaptation, BelTA reports.
Together, visitors and the centre’s charges watched a wonderful and kind performance with Father Frost and Snegurochka. Everyone sang beloved New Year songs, danced and walked in a circle around the Christmas tree. Karolina Shcherbakova, one of the kids who stay at the centre, liked the party very much. “I wish all the kids who are here with me today to go back home as soon as possible. Let them all be happy, healthy and lucky in life!” she said.
The presents, of course, were not forgotten. Dmitry Lukashenko brought the children sweets, sporting gear, and a TV.
The centre gives shelter to 16 kids aged 3 to 16: orphans and those abandoned by their parents. Director Yekaterina Kosik said they were preparing for the visit and waiting for it impatiently. “It’s not the first experience like this for us. Every year, our centre welcomes guests who come for an Our Children campaign event,” she said.
Talking to reporters, Dmitry Lukashenko’s daughter Darya said that now is the time of magic. “I would like to wish everyone that their dreams come true, that they are happy, healthy, and making all their plans reality in the coming year. It’s nice of everyone to come, bring positive emotions and some of their warmth to these great kids, so they also feel the holidays. The weather outside is more like autumn or spring, but I think it’s up to the people to set up a holiday mood for themselves. If we are positive and waiting for the miracle ahead of New Year, we are going to feel festive all the same,” Darya believes.
Dmitry Lukashenko thanked the kids in the centre, alongside their teachers and invited artists. “I’d like to congratulate everyone on the upcoming holidays, wish everyone kindness, comfort, love, and, of course, let all your dreams come true!” he said.
