Belarus’ National Bank to mint 25 types of commemorative coins in 2025
In 2025, the National Bank of Belarus is planning to mint and release 25 types of commemorative coins and 2 types of commemorative notes, sb.by reports citing the bank
Resolution of the National Bank Board No.391 adopted on December 16th, 2024 lists the commemorative coins and notes to be released into circulation and serve as legitimate means of payment in the Republic of Belarus in 2025.
“Coins and notes planned for release in 2025 are going to commemorate 80 years of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as other significant dates, like 900 years of the Polotsk nunnery and 100 years of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve. The Slutsk Belts series of notes is focused on popularising Belarus’ cultural heritage,” the National Bank representatives explained.
They added that the subject of historical and cultural values on commemorative coins will continue in coins like the Republican Festival of National Cultures, the Church of St. Michael in Novogrudok, the Games from the Belarusian Children’s Folklore series, Philip the Son from the Belarusian Folk Tales series, the Ruble from the Money of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania series, the Chinese Calendar, the Tarpan from the Horses series, the Winter from the Seasons series, the Naroch Lake from the Secrets of Belarusian Water series, the Dazhynki from the Belarusian Holidays and Rituals series, the Chess, the Mercy from the Belarusian Character Traits series, the Perun from the Slavic Mythology series, the Dump Truck, Truck, Tow Truck, Tractor, Trolleybus coins from the History of Belarusian Machine Engineering series.
On top of that, the release of a number of commemorative coins planned to be minted in 2024 was pushed to 2025, including the Grey Crow from the Bird of the Year series, the Starodorozhsky Costume from the Belarusian Folk Costume series, the Grass Blade and the Sparrow from the Belarusian Children’s Folklore series, the Father from the Tree of Life series, and the coins from the History of Belarusian Railway. Train Engines series: the Steam Engine, Diesel Locomotive, Electric Locomotive, Diesel Train, and Electric Train types.
