Volfovich: neo-fascism ideology flaring up in the world
The ideology of neo-fascism has flared up in the world with a new force – as stated by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Aleksandr Volfovich, after the 10th meeting of the Secretaries of the CIS Security Councils in Moscow, BelTA reports
Speaking about the current situation in the world, Mr. Volfovich urged to recall the events of WWII, “Unfortunately, we have returned to the need to counteract (although we thought that we had done away with this during the Great Patriotic War) the ideology of neo-fascism, which has flared up with renewed vigour today. We should look at the history and think of the Brest Fortress: in 1941, thirty-four nationalities of a once large country stood shoulder to shoulder and resisted the brown plague of fascism. Among them were our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. What would they think of us now? We have discussed this thoroughly at the meeting.”
The meeting of the Secretaries of the CIS Security Councils discussed topical issues of international and regional security, including the development of the situation in the post-Soviet space in the context of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. The issues of countering the destructive activities of foreign non-governmental organisations, glorification of fascism and falsification of history in the CIS states were considered. In addition, the meeting participants discussed the issues of ensuring nuclear safety and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
