Volfovich: domestic political background largely depends on how the system ensures the rule of law in the country
This was stated by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich during a solemn graduation ceremony of officers of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The main characters of the holiday were cordially welcomed by Minsk’s State Flag Square with guests – relatives and friends of graduates. Out of 359 newly-qualified officers, 37 graduated from alma mater with honours, 12 of them were awarded a gold medal, and 6 more are Presidential scholarship holders registered into the national database of gifted youth.
The heroes of the solemn occasion were congratulated by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich, “This is a significant day not only in the history of the Interior Ministry, but also in the history of our country: the national security system has been replenished with new officers. Now there is a serious confrontation between East and West, with Belarus being at the epicentre of this storm. The domestic political background of the country largely depends on how the system ensures the rule of law. I’m convinced that you will be devoted to your Motherland. I wish you happiness, success in service and sparkle in the eyes when performing tasks!”
Belarus’ Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov underlined that studying at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not easy, but graduates always remember these years with trepidation, “I want you to remember the friendship that originated within the walls of the academy and appreciate your teachers, who did everything to ensure that you passed this path with dignity. Reliable friends, senior comrades and mentors will always be with you. After all, the Belarusian police are strong corporatism and solidarity.”
The Head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aleksandr Vasiliev, noted the significance of the event, expressing hope that the graduates would eventually become the pride of the alma mater, “You have a long way ahead, full of plans, victories and accomplishments. Bear the title of a graduate of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with honour and dignity, strive to be an example for your colleagues!”
According to a good tradition, the ceremony was accompanied by the trooping of the Banner of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which the graduates said goodbye to. At the end of the event, the lieutenants marched in a solemn march and threw coins into the air for good luck. In a month, young employees will start serving in the units of the Investigative Committee, the Interior Ministry, the Defence Ministry, the State Forensic Examinations Committee, the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee and the State Border Committee.
