Vietnam imported record number of cars in 2022

Record number of cars were imported in Vietnam last year: 173,467, TASS reports

According to the State Customs Administration of Vietnam, more than 173,000 cars were imported into the country in 2022, and their total cost exceeded $3.84bn – which was 5.1 percent more than in 2021.

Due to the policy of economic renewal, Vietnam’s mid-class stratum expanded. Moreover, quite many people can now afford premium segment cars in the country.

As a result, brands such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Lexus, Acura, Rover and Audi have officially joined the Vietnamese market in recent years. Meanwhile, South Korean Hyundai and Japanese Toyota top domestic sales.
