Venezuelan President faults capitalism for causing climate change
Capitalism is responsible for the environmental crisis – as stated by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro at the COP27 summit, RIA Novosti reports
Maduro stressed that the people of Venezuela ‘must pay the consequences of an imbalance caused by the major Western economies, who have polluted and continue to pollute the planet for the benefit of a few’.
Moreover, the Venezuelan leader also highlighted the importance of preserving the Amazon, noting that the responsibility for this lies with all countries of South America.
The media previously reported that 80 percent of the world’s cities face climate hazards in one way or another.
