US astronaut Tracy Dyson appreciates training with Marina Vasilevskaya and Oleg Novitsky
On February 28th, the Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Centre in Zvyozdny gorodok (Russia) hosts examination complex training, its final stage. Cosmonauts, space flight participants and astronauts must demonstrate the skills and abilities acquired during the course of theoretical and practical flight preparation. Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian space flight participant Marina Vasilevskaya and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson are taking part in the training. Tracy Dyson noted that the main element of training is joint work and team skills.
“Marina Vasilevskaya is very energetic and focused on preparation. I am also confident in Oleg Novitsky's competence, since all my commanders were men,” the astronaut stated.
Tracy Dyson also added that as a more experienced cosmonaut, she has already shared ‘women's lifehacks’ with Marina Vasilevskaya, ‘but the main rule is confident and calm teamwork’.
Journalists asked the astronaut what cosmonauts talk about in their free time.
“Anything but emergency procedures,” Tracy Dyson answered.
