UN Secretary General condemns Ukrainian Armed Forces' shelling attack on Lisichansk
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the shelling of Lisichansk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and stressed the inadmissibility of attacks on civilians – as stated by the official representative of the Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric, TASS reports
“The Secretary General condemns all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, including the shelling of Lisichansk, where civilians were reportedly killed. Attacks against civilians or civilian infrastructure are prohibited under international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the statement said.
On February 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Lisichansk with HIMARS missiles hitting a bakery and killing 28 civilians, including a child. Ten people were rescued from under the rubble.
