Ex-congressman said Americans unaware of nuclear threat risks from ATACMS in Ukraine
Former Democratic congressman from Ohio Dennis Kucinich said that US residents do not fully understand the risks of a nuclear conflict due to the deployment of ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles on Ukrainian territory, TASS reports
Kucinich stated that ‘the American people, of course, are not fully aware of the increased risk of nuclear conflict due to the deployment of US high-performance missiles aimed at Russia on Ukrainian territory’.
He said that opinion leaders are preparing to travel across the United States ‘to warn the American people that any further escalation inside Ukraine lowers the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons, and that this could lead to a catastrophe of the highest scale’. According to the former congressman, Americans should understand Russia’s historical sensitivity to pre-emptive attacks, including the provocation of NATO’s policy of invasion and encirclement.
