Ulyanovsk Region Governor: we came to Belarus with favourable offers
A delegation of the Ulyanovsk Region has come to Belarus with specific proposals that will bring bilateral co-operation to a qualitatively new level – as stated by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region of Russia, Aleksei Russkikh, during his today’s meeting with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko
In the beginning of their conversation, Mr. Russkikh thanked the Head of State for the opportunity to meet, noting that he is always happy to come to Belarus, “We are always heartily welcomed here, and we are thankful for such an attitude. We have arrived not empty-handed: we have brought concrete, profitable proposals that will be able to bring relations between Belarus and the Ulyanovsk Region to a qualitatively new level. All of them fit into the context of your agreements with President Vladimir Putin.”
The Governor noted that Belarus and the Ulyanovsk Region have a long and good history of co-operation: since 2005, an agreement on co-operation in all areas has been operational, and it is constantly being updated. The parties are now working according to the plan for 2023-2024.
“We are connected by close, friendly and partnership ties in all spheres – including industry, agriculture, culture, and the exchange of social experience. Over the past two years, we have seen a strong increase in interaction. On a monthly basis, our representatives are in contact with colleagues, discussing topical issues. Based on the results of this work, we have a clear idea in which direction we need to move further," Mr. Russkikh said.
According to the Russian Governor, the projects dealing with industrial co-operation, investment policy, import substitution and production localisation – primarily, in mechanical engineering – can be viewed as the main successes of the parties.
