Ukraine-US memorandum on control of international aid coming to Kiev signed
A memorandum on strengthening control over the use of international aid coming to Kiev was signed at a meeting of the Ukrainian Defence Minister, Rustem Umerov, and the Inspector General of the US Department of Defence, Robert Storch, TASS reports
It is noted that the purpose of the document is to strengthen co-operation between the United States and Ukraine in the field of control over the use of international aid. The document envisages ‘information exchange and joint actions to identify and prevent fraud or corruption related to assistance provided to Ukraine by the United States’.
In addition, it is reported that Rustem Umerov informed the American side about the measures that are being taken in Ukraine to prevent corruption in the field of procurement, and about the ‘introduction of democratic control tools in the field of defence’.
