As Ebba Busch stressed after meeting with her EU counterparts in Stockholm, if the EU does not have essential minerals, then member countries will not be able to make the transition to green energy.

The agency clarifies that the EU seeks to develop green technologies as quickly as possible and places a huge emphasis on this issue in its policy. However, many of the resources needed to create windmills, solar panels or batteries are exported to the EU from China, Türkiye, Brazil and Russia. Only a small part of them is mined in Europe itself.
