Students from 177 universities took part in World Electoral Systems international Olympiad

The results of the 5th international Internet Olympiad, World Electoral Systems, summed, with 200+ students, including from Belarus, named the best, sb.by reports with reference to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly

The creative competition – organised by the CIS IPA International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection, the Saratov State Law Academy and the International Centre for Scientific Information – was held from September 24th to November 15th this year.

"The Olympiad gathered 3,172 students from 177 higher educational institutions, with most applications submitted by Russia, Belarus and Azerbaijan. Students from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Zambia, Indonesia, Canada, China, Colombia, Republic of the Congo, Lebanon, Nigeria, Chad, Ecuador, Mali, and Mongolia competed for the best result,” the press service said in a statement.

As reported, the Olympiad was held this year for the fifth time. Since its launch, the number of participants has increased almost 4.5 times, and the number of universities they represent has tripled.
