Truth of life and philosophy of success in Lukashenko’s piece of advice to young people

The current generation of Belarusians has no need to fight for the right to build their own state, but all the work will have to be started anew if they forget or betray the ones who have passed this path already – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s New Year's Eve Ball at the Palace of Independence that gathered young people from all over the country

Addressing the participants of the festive event, the Head of State said, “It is extremely important for me that, being here among people of different ages, statuses and positions, you feel the soul of our model of living – where everyone is equal in their abilities, where the generational change is based on respect for the historical achievements of the people and necessarily on continuity. In my opinion, this is the main idea that I came to big politics with a long time ago: to preserve continuity. There was an inner confidence in the correctness of that course, and there was a request from society. Therefore, there was the people’s support. Every reasonably thinking person understood the simple truth then: we, Belarusians, did not at least have to fight for the right to build our own state. However, we would need to start everything anew once we forget or betray the ones who passed that path. The worst truth here is that we may start [everything anew] with weapons in our hands, God forbid. This is the truth of life and the philosophy of success: if you want to rise even higher, do not break the support built up by previous generations. You better lean on it and go forward. Well, such a serious conversation may seem inappropriate for you in the present festive atmosphere, but scenery is always temporary. Meanwhile, the moment you are in is of fundamental importance, and it may turn out to be fateful for someone.”

The President noted that today’s evening gave young men and ladies many opportunities to make new friends and communicate with those whose life experience can already become a guide for young people in the future.

Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated all those present and all Belarusians as well on the upcoming winter holidays, “Be always happy and take care of your country, our Belarus.”
