New Year's Eve Ball participant: all conditions created in Belarus for self-realisation of young people
The Belarusian youth have all the opportunities to successfully realise themselves, fourth-year student of Grodno’s Regional Cadet School Ivan Mikolaichik told sb.by
The young man was among the participants in the New Year's Eve Ball held today at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. “In our country, all roads are open to anyone who studies worthily, strives to be useful, is involved in sports or creativity,” he said. “For example, the educational establishment I study at offers a variety of directions for cadets to show their talent – including sports and creativity. It was a pleasant surprise for me to learn that I had been chosen to participate in the New Year's Eve Ball, although – to be sincere – I have successes: I was among the winners of the republican ceremonial review and I practice dancing.”
Ivan is convinced that his participation in the ball confirms that the country’s most significant events are open for the youngsters who live in the regions. “Openly speaking, I am very flattered that I am here, where the country's top officials and the President are in attendance,” the young man said. “I feel excited but proud. It is great that government officials and famous artistes are celebrating the coming year together with us. I am sure that anyone of my age who is ready to show their mettle can be in my place.”
330 young men and ladies have gathered for the festive event. Among them were students of institutions of higher, secondary, vocational and secondary special education, as well as cadet schools and the Minsk Suvorov Military School. These youngsters showed perfect results in studies, sports and public life, and among them were also holders of Presidential scholarships, winners and laureates of creative international and national competitions, as well as representatives of the volunteer movement and the sports industry.
