State Border Committee: Polotsk guards found refugee corpse on border with Latvia
Polotsk border guards found the corpse of a man, presumably from Asia, near the border with Latvia in the Verkhnedvinsk District on August 21st, Belarus’ State Border Committee reports
It is informed that the body of the foreigner was covered with an oilcloth, no belongings and documents were found next to the corpse.
An investigative task force went to work at the scene. According to preliminary data, the death occurred about 5 days ago. It is reported that other circumstances will be established by the investigators of the Verkhnedvinsk District Department of the Investigative Committee.
According to the State Border Committee, that was the sixth death of a refugee on the border with Latvia recorded by Belarusian border guards since the beginning of 2023.
