Snopkov: after imposition of sanctions, Belarus doubled potassium exports to the markets of friendly countries
Belarus has doubled the export of potassium to the markets of friendly countries after the imposition of sanctions – as First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov told journalists, when commenting on the results of a meeting with the President on the creation of port facilities and the draft decree on the sale of potash fertilisers
In particular, Nikolai Snopkov said that after the imposition of sanctions, our country lost potash markets worth 5.5 million tonnes, “On average, in the previous decade, we transported annually 10-11 million tonnes [of potassium]. Accordingly, we have only 4.5 million tonnes left in friendly markets. This year, we will be transporting 8 million tonnes of potassium to friendly markets – actually twice as much – thus replacing the lost markets of unfriendly countries. Hence the conclusion: we are doing well with the competition.”
The First Deputy PM also added that in relation to other groups of goods, including oil products, the port facilities provide everything, “These are other ports, other approaches. The logistics are perfect there. Everything that we process and can sell is exported.”
