Shunevich: hunters’ knowledge, skills and equipment can be used in territorial defence interests
The knowledge, skills and equipment of Belarusian hunters can be used in the interests of territorial defence – as noted by Chairman of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen Igor Shunevich in his talk with ONT TV channel
Igor Shunevich noted that this is not about the people’s militia, but about territorial defence.
“We’re considering the possibility of using our knowledge and skills – including equipment, technology, and weapons – in the interests of territorial defence. This refers not to people’s militia, but to territorial defence, since this is a more specialised and narrowly focused military formation with specific tasks and more serious capabilities than the people’s militia,” he stressed.
According to him, if the need arises, hunters can be used as sniper and anti-sniper cover.
“It can also be the protection of objects, repelling attacks by sabotage and reconnaissance groups, etc. This is a wide range of applications, based on the skills, knowledge and abilities that we have, and preparedness, of course,” explained Igor Shunevich.
