Belarus is set to fully satisfy St. Petersburg’s needs for modern passenger transport

Belarus is set to fully satisfy St. Petersburg’s needs for modern passenger transport, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at the 14th meeting of the Belarus-Saint Petersburg Business Co-operation Council that took place today, October 25th, in Russia’s northern capital

The PM emphasised that Belarus has accumulated substantial positive experience when it comes to supplying St. Petersburg with passenger transport and municipal vehicles made by well-known manufacturers like Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Tractor Works, BKM, Amkodor, etc.
“Despite these companies’ production capacities being busy fulfilling orders made by other Russian regions, or foreign countries, contracts signed with St. Petersburg remain our priority. We are set to fully satisfy your city’s needs when it comes to modern passenger transport and supply new models of Belarusian-made buses, trolleybuses, electric buses, and trams. We are ready to offer great financial options for such contracts,” said Mr. Golovchenko.
The Prime Minister added that Belarus is also ready to offer municipal vehicles to the city’s utility companies.

As an example, Mr. Golovchenko brought up the all-purpose municipal vehicle developed by Amkodor on orders from St. Petersburg. The machine is able to clean streets in any weather, in unique conditions specific for the historical part of the city.
