Sergeyenko: Belarusian citizens support the course of the state and President
Analytical studies show that Belarusian citizens support the course of the state, the course of the President, and Belarusian society today is monolithic and united – as stated by the Head of the Belarus’ President Administration, Igor Sergeyenko, after his today’s meeting with employees of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS)
Igor Sergeyenko stressed that the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies has established itself over the years as an authoritative analytical structure, “An industrious team of scientists, researchers and practitioners has been formed. A structure has been created and branches have been established in every region of our country. BISS solves issues in a number of areas: the foreign and regional policy, the internal situation, and the information sphere. The product of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies enjoys demand among the country's leadership. Public opinion and various spheres of life of our state are regularly being studied here. Analysts work together with practitioners, communicating with citizens, specialists, and representatives of the expert community.”
The Head of the President Administration clarified, “The research conducted by the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies shows that our citizens support the course of the state, the course of the President. True, there are problematic issues in certain spheres, and they all are voiced out. They are taken into account in the work when making management decisions. However, in general, our society is monolithic and united, and the results of our recent elections prove this – as do the information materials prepared by the Institute.”
Mr. Sergeyenko added that the study of international problems is an important area of the BISS work – ‘to build relations with our neighbours and with the countries of the far arc. “All areas need to be developed further, and the depth and quality of the information materials prepared as a result of the creative work of the BISS staff are of special importance,” he said.
Answering a clarifying question from journalists, where analysts can be especially useful, taking into account the upcoming presidential campaign in Belarus in 2025, the Head of the President Administration noted, “Analysts can participate in assessing the real picture that is emerging not only in our country, at our borders, but also in our nearest neighbours. It is clear that the BISS analysis is open, it is not intelligence information that the special services work with. Nevertheless, the array of information that the Institute works with and its foreign contacts make it possible to find common ground and create a decent analytical product.”
