Sergeyenko and some other heads relieved of previous posts due to their transition to elected positions

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has signed decrees releasing a number of officials from their positions, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

In line with Article 84 of the Constitution of Belarus, Igor Sergeyenko was dismissed from the post of Head of the Belarus President Administration due to the transfer to an elected position of an employee.

Labour and Social Protection Minister Irina Kostevich, President’s Aide – Inspector for Minsk Aleksandr Barsukov, Director of the National Centre for Legislation and Legal Research Vadim Ipatov, and Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus Vyacheslav Danilovich were removed from their positions on the same basis.

In line with Article 84 of the Constitution of Belarus, Major General Gennady Lepeshko was relieved of his post as Chief of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus, while Major General of Justice Andrei Lis was relieved of his post as Head of the Minsk Region Department of the Investigative Committee. They suspended, accordingly, military service and service in the Investigative Committee due to their election as deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly for their term of office.

In accordance with paragraph 10 of Article 84 and Article 145 of the Constitution of Belarus, Nikolai Maratayev was relieved of the post as Deputy Chairman and judge of the Gomel Regional Court in connection with his election to another position. He was also expelled from the Gomel Regional Court’s Presidium.
