Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou held a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on March 28th, during her visit to Serbia.

At a press conference of the two leaders, Mr. Vucic said, “We currently have 528m cubic metres of gas reserves. These are considerable reserves for our country, and they are growing, because there is a permission to place another 100m cubic metres in the Russian section of the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage. There is also an agreement with Hungarians to fill the storage that we rented in Hungary from our partners. As a result, we will provide reserves of over 700m cubic metres of gas, which was impossible earlier in our history.”

According to the general opinion of the presidents of Greece and Serbia, the consumption of natural gas increases sharply due to the cold weather during the heating season and can reach 16m cubic metres per day in Serbia in winter. Therefore, the President plans to transport up to 3.5m cubic metres of gas to the country daily through the connecting gas pipeline with Bulgaria.
