Scholz: Germany will not send soldiers to Ukraine
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said NATO would not become a party to the conflict in Ukraine, and German military would not be sent to Ukrainian territory, RIA Novosti reports
Olaf Scholz said that NATO is not and will not become a party to the conflict. According to him, ‘countries do not want Russia's war with Ukraine to turn into a war between Russia and NATO’. Mr. Scholz added that Germany would not participate in the war. “As Federal Chancellor, I will not send military personnel of the German Armed Forces to Ukraine!” he stated.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the EU had agreed to create a ‘ninth coalition for deep strikes’ – supplies of medium and long-range missiles to Ukraine. He added that France will do everything so that Russia ‘does not win this war’.
