SB. Belarus Segodnya columnist commented on information war against Belarus, Russia: West is using guidelines from Cold War times

Destructive forces are unable to shake up the situation in Belarus and Russia, so they are turning to calling on young people to an armed uprising – as noted by Andrei Mukovozchik, a columnist of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, in his talk with Alfa Radio

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service’s Chief, Sergei Naryshkin, said that the US Department of State had sent instructions to telecommunications holdings to cover events in and around Russia. Their goal is to introduce the idea of the need for a forceful struggle with the authorities up to an armed rebellion into Russians’ consciousness.

“I cannot get rid of the feeling that the West is getting increasingly more stupid. The elites are becoming stupid. [Former British Prime Minister] Liz Truss is a prime example of this. They are getting stupid. After all, how could they declare to the whole world that they would pursue their goal, even if it contradicts the Americans’ interests and values. The Secretary of State [Antony Blinken], the second top person in the United States, says that they do not care about the opinion of American citizens, that they will do something of their own. How could they say that they live in a civilisational garden, and around them there is a jungle with which they can do as they please? Those words were voiced by the second top person in the European Union. Such things could only be done if criticality is lost,” Mr. Mukovozchik stressed.

As noted by the columnist, the European political leaders’ level is falling. “Look who is coming to power, who leads the countries. Where are the figures of the scale of de Gaulle, Kohl, or Margaret Thatcher? Where are they? [Former German Chancellor] Angela Merkel was the last figure of the kind. Everything around is sinking into the abyss. I am telling this for you to understand that there is nothing new in these guidelines. These are manuals from the Cold War times, and they are calling people to an armed uprising. [Destructive forces] planned to win through soft power, with help of the fifth column and white ribbons. They were inspired by the previous successes: it worked out in Georgia and Ukraine. The understanding has come that this is not the case. In Ukraine, there was the last success of colour revolutions. They are not succeeding any more. They rest against the wall and understand that society rejects this, so they move on to calling on young people to an armed uprising," Mr. Mukovozchik explained.
