Ryzhenkov: those coming to Belarus from EU, US make U-turn in their attitude
The West is spreading the same fakes against Belarus as it does against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Therefore, one of the areas of co-operation that Belarus will develop with the DPRK concerns greater information support, raising awareness of the two countries’ citizens about each other – as noted by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel.
Commenting on rumours that his recent visit to North Korea was ‘preparing the ground for Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Pyongyang’, the Foreign Minister said, “I’m preparing the ground not so much for a visit, but for our people to independently draw conclusions and form their own opinion about this country. I’m convinced that the same fakes are spreading in relation to Belarus. You see how foreigners coming to us from the European Union, from the United States, share their impressions, making a U-turn in their previous attitude towards Belarus which was based on those propaganda things they faced before crossing the border: ‘don’t go there, they’ll recruit you into the KGB, there’s nothing to eat, nothing to drink there, there are only drunkards around, etc.’. That is why our countries must stick to each other, and one of the areas of co-operation that we will develop with the DPRK concerns greater information support.”
