Russian senator: I believe Belarus will become technologically highly developed country, model for others

On the eve of the For Belarus! concert in Moscow, Senator of the Russian Federation, former State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota shared his opinion about the outstanding opportunities of Belarus and expressed his wishes in connection with the forthcoming Presidential election

Mr. Rapota noted that he remained immersed in the Belarusian agenda and conveyed his best wishes to Belarusians in connection with the Presidential election, “I would like to wish stability and prosperity. Perhaps two such things. I would like to wish to have less upheaval, which is always very painful for any nation. That’s probably the most important thing,” he said.

The member of Russia’s Federation Council also expressed his opinion on Belarus’ possible future. The politician sees the country as an example for other states in some areas, particularly in the technological sphere.

“Belarus has every opportunity to become (in fact, it is on this path) a technologically highly developed country and can serve as an example for others in some issues. I believe in it, I think it should be so,” he concluded.
