Lukashenko appreciated new models at MotoVeloZavod: bicycles and motorbikes are the future
During today’s visit to the Minsk City Technopark, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko guided MotoVeloZavod JSC to expand its production facilities, BelTA reports
During his visit to the technopark, Aleksandr Lukashenko familiarised himself with the exhibition of products manufactured by resident enterprises, paying special attention to the equipment of MotoVeloZavod JSC. According to Director Sergei Manko, Belarusian motorbike and bicycle products are in great demand both domestically and in foreign markets.
“Well, that’s it. And they used to say that we don’t need bicycles or motorbikes. It turns out that we need everything. Bicycles and motorbikes are the future," the President emphasised.
The Head of State asked how the company implements its import substitution policy. As it was noted, other enterprises of the Industry Ministry, as well as private companies, are also involved in production. Some of them manufacture seats, others produce shock absorbers, and so on. The level of localisation reaches 80 percent for some models.
“It’s well done that they have engaged,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “But don’t stop.”
During his visit to the technopark, the President familiarised himself with a number of production facilities operating on this territory. The directions are very different, but they have one important thing in common: these import-substituting products are in demand in Belarus and have good export potential.
For example, they produce complex lines for processing rapeseed, soybeans and sunflowers.
“If you need help, just say. It is important for us that you develop,” the Head of State emphasised.
Another production facility works in the field of vacuum plasma technology, yet another one is engaged in the design of lightweight thin-walled steel structures.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also visited the motorbike factory, which started the industrial history of this area on Partizansky Avenue decades ago. Thanks to the President’s decisions, the production has got a new lease of life. Much has been done in terms of expanding the product range and localisation.
