Russian Ambassador to Belarus: we support each other
In his talk with the ONT TV channel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Boris Gryzlov noted that the Union State economy is developing and new industries are being created
The diplomat said that trade turnover in the Union State for 2022, 2023 and the first months of 2024 has increased significantly, “Today, experts are already saying that the losses that could have occurred in Belarus due to EU countries’ refusing to trade in the republic have already been overcome. Belarus’ GDP grew by 3.9 percent last year and that of Russia increased by 3.6 percent. This means we stand firmly on our feet, despite our enemies trying to bring us to our knees. This doesn’t correspond to reality. The economy is developing, and new industries are being created. With the commissioning of the nuclear power plant in Belarus, we can say that the nuclear industry has been created.”
Boris Gryzlov shared plans about what areas they plan to develop between the two states. For example, there is already a discussion of issues related to aircraft engineering, “This is also a very serious direction. The 407th Minsk Civil Aviation Plant and the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant in Baranovichi receive orders for the production of components for Russian aircraft: Tu-214, Il-96, and MS-21. Perhaps we will also be able to produce final products, i.e., Baikal and Ladoga intra-regional small aircraft. So development is currently in full swing.”
The Ambassador also stressed that the Union State is jointly opposing external enemies, “Belarus is the only country that votes equally with Russia at all UN platforms. We support Belarusians, and they support us. Therefore, we will overcome any external influence.”
