Russia ready to support if Belarus initiates investigation into Czeczko’s facts
Speaking at a briefing today, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that Russia’s Foreign Ministry will render support if Belarus initiates an investigation into the facts voiced by Emil Czeczko, BelTA reports
According to Ms. Zakharova, the cases of ill-treatment of refugees by Polish border guards and military have been documented by the relevant UN and Council of Europe bodies, as well as the Frontex EU Agency.
“With this in view, there is no sensation. The news is simply rooted in details and that there is now a person who has told us what is happening from inside,” the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasised.
According to Ms. Zakharova, the Polish side’s actions are complete madness. She believes Emil Czeczko’s statements require an unconditional international investigation.
"If our Belarusian colleagues initiate an investigation into the egregious facts voiced by this serviceman, we will provide you [Belarus] with the necessary support – including in line with our mutual obligations under the programme of co-ordinated actions in the field of foreign policy of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State members,” Ms. Zakharova stressed.
