Russia plans to increase grain supplies to Egypt

Mikhail Orlov, the Chairman of the Russian-Egyptian Business Council, said that Russia could increase grain exports to Egypt, RIA Novosti reports

According to Mr. Orlov, Russia’s production volumes are growing, so its grain exports will increase.

The official added that Egypt and other countries need more imports ‘to feed their rapidly growing population’. “Demand is growing, and whether we will meet it is a matter of our production, logistics and maritime transport capabilities. There is full potential for the growth of [grain] exports. It is a difficult period now, and there may be fluctuations, but this is not a trend. The dynamics are positive for us," Mr. Orlov stated.
