Record number of new cars sold in Belarus in October

In October 2024, total sales of new passenger cars in Belarus made up almost 5,000 units – a record for this year, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA)

“Sales of new cars via dealer networks of BAA member companies have clearly demonstrated the continuation of the market growth trend. The total number of new passenger cars sold by BAA members in October reached almost 5,000 units – a new sales record for the current year,” the association noted.

Compared to September 2024, passenger car sales in October increased by 669 units. Sales of new passenger cars more than doubled compared to October 2023. The total growth in sales of new passenger cars for the ten months of 2024 against the same period last year is estimated at 2.3 times.

The driving force behind the avalanche-like sales growth is traditionally the BelGee and Geely brands, accounting for 51 percent of new passenger car sales by BAA member companies by the end of this year.

Among the new models showing a high sales start in October 2024, BAA highlighted Geely E8 and Dongfeng Box electric cars.

According to the results of the ten months of 2024, new car sales have confidently approached the indicators of the same periods in 2018 and 2020, surpassing the sakes of 2021.
