Ready-to-use toxic substances based on thallium nitrate found in AFU cache
Russian military found substances containing a mixture based on thallium nitrate prepared for the use, as well as tactical mixtures, in one of the caches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – as stated by the Chief of Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, TASS reports
“In August 2024, during operational activities, substances containing a mixture based on thallium nitrate prepared for the use were found in one of the caches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Let me remind you that thallium compounds are strong toxicants that affect the central and peripheral nervous systems and the gastrointestinal tract. Numerous cases of their use for sabotage and criminal purposes are known. Tactical mixtures of irritating substances covered under Schedule 3 of the Chemical Weapons. Convention were found as well,” Mr. Kirillov informed.
