Poll: overwhelming majority trusts President Lukashenko

The overwhelming majority of Belarusians trust the President: the poll data provided by EcooM Analytical Centre Director Aleksei Musiyenko says so, BelTA reports

EcooM ran its Sustainable Development Factors poll on October 1st-21st, 2024. The poll sample included 1,580 respondents, and was representative across age, gender, education level, locality, and region of residence. Its statistical error level was no higher 2.5 percent.

Respondents were asked, “How much do you trust the President of the Republic of Belarus?” The answer provided by 80.4 percent was ‘I do trust’; 13.6 percent answered ‘I rather do not trust / I do not trust’, while 6 percent couldn’t or refused to provide an answer.

“That’s a very high level of trust, and it was earned by specific actions, by events that are happening in Belarus and abroad, by reactions to external challenges and threats. Trust, both in everyday life and in politics, is an extremely fragile thing. But President Lukashenko has fully earned that trust in his 30 years in the office,” commented Mr. Musiyenko on the results.
