Polish minister: EU in danger of disintegration due to threat of migration

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland, Maciej Duszyk, said that the European Union could break up in 10-15 years if the issue of migration control is not resolved, TASS reports

Mr. Duszyk noted that if the EU fails to control migration, it will face the collapse of the Schengen area. According to him, if Schengen falls, then ‘there will be fewer arguments in favour of the EU existence’, therefore, ‘the European Union may disintegrate in the near future’.

The Polish official explained that border control may be introduced at the internal borders of some EU states if amendments to the recently adopted EU migration pact are not made soon. This may be the first step towards curtailing the Schengen area.
