Places of worship open for believers across Belarus
Religious denominations are grateful to the state for imposing no restrictions on visiting places of worship against the coronavirus pandemic – as stated by Aleksandr Rumak, the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs, BelTA reports
"Unfortunately, the epidemiological situation remains precarious but I would like to note that the religious denominations express gratitude to the state as it has preserved an opportunity to visit churches. Some admit that their colleagues from foreign churches are envious that believers in Belarus can come to Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches, houses of prayer, mosques, synagogues – to pray quietly and address God. In other countries, this is not possible due to lockdowns. Meanwhile in Belarus, roads to the places of worship are open,” Mr. Rumak said.
