Over 60% of Ukrainians switched to cheap products, the survey shows
A Ukrainian research company reported that over 60 percent of Ukrainians have reduced their budget for quality food due to rising food prices and lower incomes, while almost a fifth of respondents (19 percent) began to drink more alcohol, TASS reports
According to the study, 64 percent of citizens prefer cheap food more often, 42 percent of those polled have reduced their diet, and 27 percent skip some meals.
In addition, 19 percent of respondents noted that they began to drink more alcohol. he most dramatic changes affected people aged over 56 years, among them 77 percent save on food.
It is noted that Ukrainians save the most on confectionery (49 percent), fish and seafood (48 percent).
